| Properties : |
| |
- Chlortetravet, is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is
highly active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative
bacteria, both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria,
Mycoplasma and large viruses.
- It is also active against some other pathogenic
agents unaffected by other antibiotics (e.g. Rickettsia,
certain large viruses belonging to Psittacosis
group in animals and birds ).
- Chlortetravet at high doses has some antiprotozoal
activity. |

| Indications : |
| |
A broad spectrum antibiotic highly active against a wide
range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and
Mycoplasma. Used for the prevention and treatment of
Respiratory, Enteric, Systematic and local infections and
in the control of secondary bacterial infection following
viral infections , and during periods of stress. |

| Dosage : |
| |
Poultry :
- Treatment : 60 mg (active ingredient)/kg body
weight for 3-5 days .
- Prevention : 30 mg (active ingredient)/kg body
weight for 3 days,
or 300-400 mg (active ingredient) per 1000 kg feed.
- Calves : 10-20 mg (active ingredient)/ kg body
weight daily divided into 2 doses at12 hrs interval
for 2-3 days . |

* Poultry : meat should not be used during treatment
and within one day from the last treatment.
* Calves : meat should not be used during treatment
and within 15 days from the last treatment . |
