| Properties : |

- Phenylbutazone is a non-hormonal anti-inflammatory
agent with antipyretic and analgesic properties.
- The unique combination of Phenylbutazone with Sodium
salicylate makes Salizone the ideal drug in the
treatment of pyrexia and inflammatory conditions. |

| Indications : |
| |
- It is an ideal antipyretic, in all cases of fever associated
with painful syndromes, especially in ephemeral fever.
- As a non-specific anti-inflammatory, in the treatment
of musculoskeletal infections such as arthritis, tendonitis, luxations etc.
- It is also used in inflammatory complications of various
traumatic and microbial infections and as an aid in
acute mopathy. |

| Dosage and administration : |
| |
Administered by slow intravenous injection
Cattle, Camels & Horses:
20-30 ml per day /animal, for first 2 days. Half the
dose on the following days.
Sheep, Goats, Foals, Calves & pigs:
10 ml per day/ animal for first 2 days. Half the dose
on the following days.
Dogs:
2.5 to 5.0 ml per day/animal for the first two days. Half
the dose on the following days.
- Treatment should be continued till the symptoms
subside |

| Warnings : |
| |
Care should be taken to avoid perivascular administration
during intravenous injection. |

|
| Contraindications : |
| |
Salizone is contraindicated in cases of chronic nephritis,
cardiac insufficiency, gastritis and haemoglobinuria |
| |
|
|
| Withdrawal Period : |
| |
- Animal’s meat should not be used during treatment
and within 35 days from the last treatment.
- Milk should not be used during treatment and
within 6 days from the last treatment. |
