Mectavet

Composition :

Each 1 gm Contains:
- Abamectin	10 mg.

Properties :

	Abamectin is derived from the Avermectins, a family of highly active broad spectrum antiparasitic agents which are isolated from fermentations of the soil organism Streptomyces avermitilis.

Indications :

Can be used for the treatment and control of the following parasites:

In cattles & Buffalo:
- Gastrointestinal round worms: (adult and immature) Haemonchus placei, Ostertagia ostertagi, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, T.Axei, Cooperia punctata, Cooperia onchophora, Oesophagostomum radiatum and Bunostomum phlebotomum, as well as (adult only) such as Nematodirus helvetians, N.sparthiger, Strongyloides papillosus, Thelazia spp, Toxocara vitulorum and Parafilaria bovicola.

- Lung worms: Dictyocaulus viviparus (adult and immature).

- Cattle grubs: (Parasitic stages) Hypoderma bovis, H. lineatum and Topical cattle grubs Dermatobia hominis.
- Screw-worms fly (parasitic stages): Chrysomya bezziana.

- Lice: Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurystornus, Solenopotes capillatus and Damalinia bovis.

- Ticks: Ornithodoros savignyi and Boophilus microplus.

In sheep:
- Gastrointestinal round worms: (Adult and immature) Ostertagia circumcincta, Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Nematodirus filicollis, Cooperia curticei, Chabertia ovina, Oesophagostomum columbianum.

- Adult worms : Trichostrongylus axei, T.vitrinus, Oesophagostomum venulosum, Trichuris ovis.

- Lung worm: Dictyocaulus filaria (adult & immatrue), Protostrongylus rufescens (adult)

- Nasal bot: (all larval stages) in sheep, Oestrus ovis.

In camels:
- Gastrointestinal round worms: Haemonchus contortus (adult) Ostertagia spp. (Adult), Trichostrongylus axei, T.Colubriformis, T.Vitrinus, Oesophagostomum columbianum, Chabertia spp.

Dosage :

	By subcutaneous injection. The recommended dose is 200 mcg/ kg body weight or 1 ml / 50 kg body weight in a Single dose, in some cases a second injection is given 7 to 14 days later.

Withdrawal Period :

	- Meat of cattle and sheep should not be used during treatment and within 21 days from the last treatment. - Meat of camel should not be used during treatment and within 28 days from the last treatment.

Remarks :

	- Pregnant animals can be treated. - Repeat treatment if necessary.

Precautions :

	- Wash hands after use. - Don’t contaminate water sources. - Avoid contact with eyes or skin. - Don’t smoke or eat during usage.

Packing :

	Glass bottles of 100 ml and 50 ml capacity.
