- Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside derivative.
- Gentamicin is a broad spectrum antibiotic acts by
interfering with the synthesis of bacterial proteins. |

| Indications : |
| |
Gentamicin is an antibiotic that shows a high activity
against Enterobacter aerogenes, E. coli, Klebsiella,
Salmonella and Shigella.
Used to treat many diseases of poultry like Colibacillosis,
Staphylococcosis and necrotic dermatitis,
beside urinary tract infection in ruminants. |

| Dosage : |
| |
- Poultry :
5 mg (active ingredient) / kg body weight
for 3-5 consecutive days or 200 gm per 200 lit of
drinking water for 3-5 consecutive days.
Prevention : 100 gm per 200 lit of drinking water for
3-5 days.
- Ruminants : 10 gm / 100 kg body weight twice daily for one day then once in the next 3 - 5
days or 10 gm / 10 lit of drinking water for 3 - 5
consecutive days |

Animal products should not be used during
treatment and within 7 days from the last treatment. |
