| Properties : |
| |
Dexamethasone is a potent glucocorticoid with minimal
mineralocorticoid activity.
Dexamethasone has ten to twenty times the antiinfalammatory
activity of prednisolone. |

| Indications : |
| |
Indicated in the treatment of ketosis and acetonemia,
shock condition, pre- and post operative, prevention of
stress, allergy, urticaria, pruritus, eczema, non specific skin
disease, arthritis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, spondylitis, hernia
of intervertebral disks, luxation, distortions, paresis, mastitis,
metritis, agalactia, tetany, oedema, otitis externa, keratitis,
indigestions. |

| Dosage and administration : |
| |
Administered by intramuscular or subcutaneouse injection
Cattle :
5 - 20 mg (active ingredient)/head daily 1.3 - 5.0ml/
head daily.
Horses :
2.5- 5 mg (active ingredient)/head daily 0.5-1.3 ml/
head daily.
Sheep, Goats :
2.5 - 5 mg (active ingredient)/head daily
0.5-1.3 ml/head daily.
Small animals :
0.125-1.0 mg (active ingredient)/head daily
0.03-0.25 ml/head daily.
*in case of ketosis repeat injection after 2 days. |

| Contraindications : |
| |
Except in emergencies situation the product should
not be used in animal suffer from renal impairment;
Diabetes mellitus; chronic nephritis; congestive heart
failure, osteoporosis, viral infections during viraemic stage,
pregnenat animals except in cattle to induce parturition. |

| Warnings : |
| |
- Corticosteroid are not recomended for use in pregnant
animals.
- Corticosteroid may delay the wound healing and the
immunosuppressant actions may weaken resistance or to
exacerbate existing infection.
- Gastrointestinal ulceration has been reported in animals treatred with corticosteroids .
- Steroid may cause rgment of the liver (hepatomegaly)
with increase serum hepatic enzyme. |

| Withdrawal Period : |
| |
Cattle and pigs meat should not be used during treatment
and within 21 days from the last treatment.
Milk should not be used during treatment and within 72
hours from the last treatment.
Not for use in horses intended for human consumption. |
