| Properties : |

Colistin, Polypeptide antibiotic, is very active against
Gram negative, overall colibacilli and salmonella. It is
not absorbed through intestinal mucous membrane
and, thus, acts strongly on the local intestinal infections.
There is no resistance against Colistin |

| Indications : |
| |
Infections due to colistin sensitive germs in calves,
lambs and poultry. |

| Dosage : |
| |
Given orally via drinking water or milk.
- Calves and lambs :
50000 IU per kg of body weight daily, (0.25 ml per
10 kg of body weight) twice a day for 3 to 4 days..
- Poultry:
75000 IU per kg of body weight daily (0.25 ml per
liter of drinking water) daily for 3 days. |

Contraindicated to use in calves and lambs more than
4 consecutive days (nephrotoxicity) |
